Christmas Goose
The Week Before Christmas
As usual a wonderful Christmas Party was held by the IBEW District 2, at Water's Edge in CT. The food was delicious and the company great. Warm wishes and holiday joy were all around us but the impending snow storm was mentioned plenty during the night.
As planned, Paul and I stayed overnight and were going to start out nice and early in the morning but our plans to pick up our grandsons were changed due to the approaching, expected storm. I have to add that right near Water's Edge there is a fabulous discount mall......enough said....our early start was a bit delayed. We started home at 12:45 p.m. and drove through a white hell! We didn't arrive home until 5:30 p.m. Our 2 1/2 hr. trip took a bit longer than usual.
I thought that I would share some of the beautiful photos of Water's Edge, the many trees that are throughout the hotel, the weather conditions from our car ride home and then the lovely snowfall that resulted. I also am going to add a photo or two of my Christmas tree because I was very happy to see it when we arrived home safely!
This last photo is looking into our livingroom at the tree. It is decorated with photos of the children and ornaments that they made as children. We also have some ornaments that have special meaning to us. Not done all the same color, or like some in department stores but decorated with love and memories of 39 years of marriage.

Bird house
Just wanted to add a photo of this beautiful bird house all covered in snow just a few days before Christmas.
For my birthday, in July, Camille and Louis made me a beautiful bird house. It was very hard to see it as it was almost hidden between all the lush leaves. Today, as we celebrated Papa's birthday, it was much easier for the birds to find this beautiful house. It isn't hidden anymore!

Shades of Life
Many years ago two trees were planted. From tiny seedlings to sturdy trees they both have grown. They have been through many bare winters, springs with budding beauty, full bloom summers and now, are once again shedding their glory in autumn. Like many of God's other creatures, these trees have not lost their passion or looks the same way. One has taken on a wrinkled, spent look that tells us that it's leaves have gone on longer than they should have. The other has turned it's crisp green leaves into a more glorious shade, grabbing for all the color it can while it is still hanging onto some of summer's life.

Sunrise
I thought that for a change I would post a sunrise rather than a sunset. Maybe looking at the beginning of a bright new day will lift everyone's spirits.
These photos were taken in Newport R.I.
The weather wasn't as cooporative as I would have liked but for me to get a few more "views" it was well worth the trip.
Enjoy the beauty that God has given us.

I Think I Remember
I think I remember when I didn't love you, it seems so long ago,
When the sound of your voice didn't thrill me.
When the sight of your face didn't excite me.
When the warm feel of your flesh didn't send chills through my body.
I think I remember when I didn't love you, it seems so long ago,
When my heart didn't sing at the sound of your name.
When I didn't hold my breath at the thought of you.
When I didn't care that you didn't love me too.
